Provides reports using computerized databases and information systems. Prepares reports from requests from the director, faculty, study sponsor, and outside collaborators. Designs, implements, and evaluates request using databases as information source. Essential Functions Maintains designated applications in research department databases. Creates new databases, prepares and runs data analysis queries, and uploads local database to the national database center. Uses existing database to create reports as requested. Performs data manipulation and migration. Reviews data quality reports for data submissions and errors. Ensures data requests are received, have authorizations, are evaluated, and reported. Prepares specifications and summary reports for data queries and requests. Performs chart abstraction. Provides administrative support when needed. Physical Requirements Work consistently requires sitting for 5-6 hours. Intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and manual dexterity. Each employee has the responsibility to work in a safe manner. Education, Experience and Certifications Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or health-related field required but Associates Degree and equivalent work experience will be considered. Training in information systems technologies, desktop application, and databases required. For more information, please visit carolinashealthcare.org/AtriumHealth     Job Summary The Interface Analyst will serve as the primary contact for their assigned interfaces in the development and functionality rollout of the Epic applications at Atrium Connect facilities. They provide consultation and coordination of design/build/testing/go-live activities for the interfaces associated with the project. Some travel is required to support implementation and support activities at the site as well as to continue training with Epic and other systems. Formulates and defines specifications for complex operating software programming applications, or modifies and maintains complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer. Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents those programs. Usually responsible for applications dealing with the overall operating system, such as sophisticated file maintenance routines, large telecommunications networks, computer accounting and advanced mathematical /scientific software packages. Essential Functions Maintains within established levels, the technical performance of Unix and mainframe based hardware and software supporting the administrative, financial, patient care, and other departmental computer applications of CHS. Provides responsive support to the application development and operational activities of the IS Department. Monitors system performance, makes recommendations, and takes appropriate action to insure the best performance per utilization of computer resources. Advises IS staff on proper data administration and program design to improve capabilities of existing programs and systems. Supports the HBOC Star and Pathways products and PeopleSoft financial applications from a technical perspective. Also works with other departmental applications on support and setup. Works with vendors on system installation and setup. Supports all AIX, HP, and Digital Unix operating systems. Supports Technology applications such as Tivoli and Maestro scheduling packages. Recommends and implements solutions, understanding the ramifications for problems within Information Services. Defines protocol for working with customers and appropriately balances needs and resources. Develops and implements process improvement initiatives within Information Services. Understands basic concepts of the budget process. Able to develop and execute a simple project on time and within budget. Physical Requirements Work is subject to high-level visibility through exposure to CHS administration. Requires a high degree of proficiency in verbal and written communications. Must be available for callback support on a regular basis, extensive evening and weekend hours due to schedules at times for conversions, training required. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
