What You Will Do
Job Summary:
The Chief of Staff (COS) will work with the CEO, Executive Committee (EC), Centers of Excellence (COE) and supporting functions to facilitate, monitor and report on the overall comprehensive, integrated strategy for Ascension Technologies across all Business Units. This role will support key business strategies, translate strategy into action and serve as an advisor to the Executive Committee. This role does not serve as gatekeeper, but as a "force multiplier". As the CEO and EC's trusted liaise, the role requires a highly-resourceful individual with a high degree of emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and exceptional analytical skills.
The COS will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders.
The COS will provide data that will help Ascension Technologies grow, scale and run the business more effectively. The COS will manage the business through three primary functions: Enterprise Reporting, Performance Management, and Workforce Planning. The COS will collaborate cross-functionally to develop and manage resourcing plans, enabling Ascension Technologies teams to execute and innovate at speed.
The COS will work cross-functionally and to improve communication and strategic decision making across teams while keeping the CEO apprised of key initiatives and projects, and jumping in to move things forward wherever necessary. This is a facilitative role that requires a combination of focus and flexibility, as well as willingness to play an active, behind-the-scenes role.
  • Establish an executive dashboard for use by the EC to provide indicators and insights by which they will manage the business. Develop and maintain core management reporting, dashboards and key risk indicators and analysis tools
  • Develop and maintain internal and external audit notification process.
  • Produce audit results reporting, monitor audit remediation action items and report progress.
  • Track key trends in lagging/leading metrics and monitor progress of system reliability, quality, time to value, velocity, partner satisfaction, utilization of products, contract performance, contingent worker consumption, attrition, employee engagement and other key performance indicators.
  • Monitor projects, ensuring the program meets milestones, deliverables, budget and objectives.
  • Manage ePMO and internship teams.
  • Participate in merger, joint venture and acquisition activity and facilitates information exchange on potential opportunities. Evaluate and document all investing and merger/acquisition opportunities for the CEO.
  • Produce a workforce management philosophy and strategy; identify critical positions and essential skill sets across all Business Units.
  • Create and lead coaching centers designed to improve leadership skills and abilities.
  • Provide span and layer data to assist in building a scalable organization with financial stewardship and productivity as the driver.
  • Maintain real time SWOT narrative for Ascension Technologies and each Business Unit.
  • Manage timely deliverables with strong communication and cross functional partnering skills with the ability to gain shared vision on challenging decisions and priority trade-offs.
  • Create and synergize reports/dashboards/presentations.
  • Connect the dots. Stay actively engaged with large strategic corporate initiatives to have visibility into every business unit development teams' progress as well as what's working and what's not.
  • Drive the EC towards clear, efficient and accountable decision making. Distill and cascade core principles of our strategy for board, leadership and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate and manage the process of identifying and prioritizing projects, programs, initiatives. Work with finance to identify and monitor progression on stop/do items.
  • Prepare for, and facilitate "critical path" CEO and EC meetings. While members of any one of these groups may initiate these meetings through the CEO's Executive Assistant and be responsible for inviting and preparing participants, the COS is accountable to ensure the meeting objectives are realistic, that preparation is appropriate, and that the CEO is well-informed.
  • Articulate whiteboard concepts and designs to create consumable information to other Ascension executives, Ascension Technologies leaders and external parties.
  • Cultivate a strong brand identity and culture by creating and executing employee collaboration and socialization activities.
  • Lead MCS results action planning efforts. Track and monitor progress.
  • Partner with Ascension Technologies Communications team on award submissions and employee recognition.
  • Encourage and develop a growth outlook fostering an attitude of change. Identify, lead, and partner with leaders to further a unified culture that adopts high performance, team member engagement, learning, innovation, partner satisfaction, and accountability.
  • Develop and lead activities to enhance employee engagement, e.g., roundtable, focus groups.
  • All other duties as assigned by the CEO.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or combination of High School degree and related experience required. 
  • Bachelor degree in business or other related field
  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.
Work Experience:
  • 3 Years Required Technical Experience.
  • 5 Years Preferred Technical Experience.
  • 1 Year Preferred Leadership/Mgmt Experience.
  • 10+ years of work experience in a senior leadership role
