The Senior Platform Engineer will provide technical skills that cover a broad range of disciplines and/or a particular technical discipline that is of significance to Parallon. You will p erform technical project assigned with minimal supervision. Identify, investigate, evaluate and become proficient in new technologies and technical disciplines that are of significance to HCA Healthcare. and Parallon.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Implementation of software systems on various hardware platforms, operating system installation and customization where applicable, troubleshoot, identify and implement improvements, assist and advise in disaster recovery planning from component failures standpoint of supported systems.
  • Provide Tier 3 Support for all Client / Server systems positioning the department to meet the Physician Service Centers current and future business needs including operating system maintenance, application maintenance, and ensure all facility - based systems adhere to HCA IT&S security, user access, and configuration policies.
  • Provide leadership in the PSC IT Operations Department as the subject matter expert regarding SCCM packaging, patching, reporting, and management.
  • Im plement, monitor and support servers and storage environments for all facility equipment, providing operational application support to include image archive and disaster recovery
  • Maintain consistency and ownership of production, QA, and development environment for facility infrastructure and application platform services including IIS, Apache Tomcat, Confluence, and .Net Framework
  • Support specific business and IT team deployments and updates of web-based, server-based, and client-based software as well as SQL data source administration and deployment functions.
  • Mai ntain frequent interaction with internal and vendor technical staffs and project managers to ensure effective delivery of solutions in accordance with project timelines and associated budgets.
  • Assist with the installation and certification of all supporting software and hardware in a lab environment in order to assure a sound deployment basis for production implementations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve critical system issues and provide root cause analysis.
  • Install and support server and desktop technologies for the Physician Service Center for both local and remote users.
  • Orde r server hardware and software for Physician Service Center in accordance with budget directives, maintain an asset management system, and ensure technology capacity aligns with business demand
  • Desktop vulnerability tracking and remediation: Coordinates tech work; liaison to Information Security PSC DISO; reports on PSC status; coordinates updates/patches for desktop team; strategizes for maintenance of ongoing vulnerability score
  • Physician Service Center Print Server maintenance: Would manage and maintain PSC print servers by monitoring server health; oversee patching; create print queues as needed, update printer drivers when certified
  • Develops and maintains procedures for equipment installation and configuration support
  • Participates in activities which improve departmental and organizational performance
  • Maintains and protects confidentiality with regard to all aspects of patient care
  • Maintain local site information on enterprise reference resources including Confluence, OneSource, and Bluecat
  • Assist with support and maintenance of local network infrastructure in coordination with site Network administrators/engineers and local Telecom resources.


EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have 5+ years of experience in deploying technically complex infrastructure computing solutions across platforms and components.

  • 5 + years of experience with network fundamentals and performance principles, including a firm understanding of TCPIP protocols.

  • Specific platform knowledge in one or more key areas including Windows 2012; Unix/Linux a plus

  • Experience with SCCM administration, packaging, deployment, and reporting is required.

  • Experience with virtual technology, such as, VMWare ESX, Hyper-V, VIO servers, and micro-partitions is highly desirable.

  • Experience with OS environment running one or more databases including Microsoft SQL.

  • Ability to work with DBAs and understand their requirements is necessary.

  • Proven track record of project delivery results.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively are essential.

  • Solid understanding and experience with operating system concepts and practical implementation of those fundamentals in a large-scale production environment.

  • Working knowledge and experience with key ITIL processes is required.

  • Previous application development coding, debugging, testing and delivery into a production environment are highly desirable.

  • A solid understanding of compute performance metrics and tools is highly desirable, to include understanding of CPU utilization levels, CPU and disk queuing, I/O response times, and other key performance indicators and their impact on performance.

OTHER:

Must be able to lift server, pc, and printer devices for install, rack, and build.

Some afterhours work will be required occasionally.

Prolonged sitting at workstation.
