RN Clinical Informaticist: Full-Time

The Clinical Informaticist is responsible for supporting the implementation of, and providing ongoing support for corporate/division/facility-wide standardization, utilization, integration, and optimization activities related to the electronic health record and other clinically related technologies. She/he is responsible for coordination, support, and completion of project assessments, project advancements, parameter settings, workflow mapping, tools, and resources focused on Clinical Informatics' initiatives including but not limited to provider order entry and documentation, standard clinical documentation, Meaningful Use, and other technology that supports clinician workflow. The clinical informaticist will participate in the company-wide community of Informatics by working with director of clinical informatics and facility peers to ensure clinical applications are well supported throughout the facility

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree required, clinical degree preferred.
Licensure/Certifications: Current RN licensure, if applicable
Experience: Minimum 1 to 3 years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Clinical/Healthcare Informatics, clinical application support, or equivalent preferred; Meditech/Epic experience strongly preferred.
Must have previous experience leading projections and implementation of supportive technology.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Understands pertinent regulatory guidelines such as Joint Commission, HIPAA, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong relationships across a broad range of personality types.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clinical and information technology personnel verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated customer orientation.
  • Excellent leadership and teaching abilities.
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets and data analysis experience).
  • An understanding, enthusiasm and commitment to the goals of the project.
  • Leadership skills to direct others and maintain a common vision for project objectives.
  • Must be a motivator.
  • The ability to communicate with staff at all levels of the practice, as well as with vendors and other outside agents. Must have an interdisciplinary focus.
