Schedule: 0.8 (32 hours per week), Shift: Full-Time with no weekends.

Position Summary:

Under general supervision and according to general policies and procedures, Cardiac Device Specialist coordinates the Device Clinic at the Heart Rhythm Center (HRC).

With Physician or Mid-Level (i.e. Nurse Practitioner) oversight, Cardiac Device Specialist performs Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device (CIED) interrogation and programming, enters device information into the patient management systems, reviews and retrieves CIED data from vendor-specific remote monitoring systems, schedules patient CIED checks, participates in CIED patient education, coordinates CIED patient retention program. Ensures compliance with all hospital policies and procedures, regulatory agency standards and government regulations.




• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Provider Certification


• 2-5 Years in Clinical Electrophysiology

• Proof of completed training from at least three different CIED vendors required

• Knowledge of the indications for a CIED implantation

• Knowledge of use of a magnet in CIED programming

• Must have knowledge of potential adverse events during device interrogation and the training to apply the appropriate response under provider supervision

• Ability to perform all steps of CIED interrogation

• Ability to identify potential device related complications

• Ability to Program device parameters under the supervision of the Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician.
