The Clinical Services Group (CSG) is responsible for the development and implementation of HCA's Electronic Health Record (EHR) program as well as the expansion of business processes and performance related to HCA's Clinical Agenda.

This key position with Clinical Operations Performance Analytics team is responsible for the reporting aspects as well as application of analytical techniques in support of service line initiatives. Works with other team members as well as business constituents to create metrics that enable measurement of progress towards initiative goals.
In addition to experience with data analysis, success in this position will include productive collaboration with the Clinical Operations Performance Analytics team, other CSG service line members, Clinical Analytics, IT&S teams, physicians and Group/Division/Facility leadership to support initiatives while maintaining data quality.

General Responsibilities

1) Develops advanced enterprise reporting dashboards and other tools for operational and clinical stakeholders for evaluating service line performance, analyzing drug and device effectiveness, and implementing processes for clinical improvement.
2) Develops end user training materials and schedules to support deployment of enterprise reporting dashboards.
3) Converts numerical output results into easily-understood presentations for senior management and to the Board.
4) Provides consultation for key stakeholders (operations leadership, physicians and other clinicians), conduct analyses to evaluate the clinical and economic effectiveness of CE initiatives, and to provide relevant information to business decision-makers. Assists in developing methodology pertinent to the analysis of clinical outcomes.
5) Collaborates with division and corporate clinical and operational service line leaders to develop and/or identify reporting and analytic needs.
6) Demonstrates knowledge to understand clinical and financial data models from internal and external sources.
7) Clearly documents data logic and develops end user training materials to support deployment of enterprise reporting dashboards.
8) Represents CE in cross-functional teams to develop new/enhanced systems to support analytics needs and performance improvement.
9) Establishes and meet deadlines and due dates. Resolves simple and moderate issues independently. Takes initiative in solving problems and offering potential solutions
10) Assists with special projects and performs related duties as required.
11) Builds strong relationships within department and with other staff outside of the CE department.
12) Practices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement."


• Requires four to seven years' relevant experience.


• College degree or relevant experience, Master's degree (healthcare focus) preferred.


• Strong analytical and technical skills with ability to analyze issues and recommend solutions in a timely manner.
• Experience in data modeling.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products and general SQL knowledge
• Strong database and software skills, particularly querying skills and the know-how to transform datasets so they may be imported into various applications.
• Knowledgeable about various healthcare data sources and clinical issues.
• Detail-oriented with strong desire to find solutions to problems.
• Ability to clearly communicate findings both verbally and in writing.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in fast paced environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team on complex projects in both defined and unstructured environments.
• Adeptness to learn new assignments, technologies, and applications quickly.
