The System Administrator - Case Management will assist in the in the development and implementation of the case management technology solution for HCA. This position will report to the Assistance Vice President of Case Management Business Technology.

The System Administrator - Case Management will serve as a system and business process expert, coordinating both the business process functional and technical responsibilities associated with the implementation of the Midas+ system in HCA facilities.

The System Administrator is responsible for maintaining and supporting the MIDAS+ departmental information system and the operational goals for the assigned functional area.

The System Administrator focuses on system integration, implementation, maintenance and problem solving relevant to MIDAS+ and the modules within the MIDAS+ system.

• Performs MIDAS+ installation activities and leads associated processes for optimal facility and corporate utilization
• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the end-user environment and systems and proactively seeks methods of improvement
• Maintains integrity of system security by auditing the new user set up process and regularly reviewing and removing user securities no longer in use
• Supports the MIDAS+ policies and procedures and adheres to departmental, industry and/or regulatory standards by enforcing and documenting system policies, procedures, and methodologies
• Maintains system dictionaries to ensure consistency, accuracy, completeness, and suitability of module, shared, and interface Dictionaries
• Provides Level II support for system users during Go-live operations and works with CSS to coordinate internal communications and communications with the end users
• Maintains reporting templates and SmartTrack™ Indicators
• Designs, creates and maintains reports consistent with the business requirements

Follows up with IT & S to ensure the following:

• Message queues and processors are adequately maintained

• Interfaces are monitored and maintained to ensure consistent, accurate flow of information

• System upgrades/updates are scheduled and coordinated with the MIDAS+ staff

• Adherence to change management processes and procedures.

• Appropriateness of support and resolutions provided by CSS and other IT&S groups by actively participating in log reviews

• Collaborates with Midas+ CM Education Team to implement user training programs for new and existing end-users

Performs data analysis and provides in-depth ad-hoc reporting which results in recommendations for system/process changes which impact the end-user and the enterprise

• Prepares data for presentation

• Conducts special studies, performs informational analysis, and develops special reports as requested through system tools and resources

Maintains all documentation of the MIDAS+ Care Management System

• Evaluates procedures and operations as they relate to information technology and MIDAS+ system implementation processes

Demonstrates creativity and independent thinking by developing alternative designs to achieve project objectives

Provides expertise in case management functions and offers solutions to solve business issues through the use of the technology solutio

• College degree BA, BS - or equivalent experience, preferred

• Health-related field experience required (prefer 2 + years)

• Minimum of 1 year Midas experience

• Midas System Administrator experience, preferred

• Working knowledge of computer principles and practices; experience with specific clinical applications or clinical informatics systems preferred

• IT & S experience required - BAA, informatics or other

• Proficient use of Windows XP, spreadsheet applications, PowerPoint, and other software tools

• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships

• Excellent communication skills-- effective in oral, written and electronic formats
