Job Summary:

As a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) you will have the opportunity to grow and leverage your technical skills in database administration to manage our structured SQL Server database environments. Working directly with application development teams, operating system engineers, and storage engineers you will be accountable for setting up and maintaining the database environments and ensuring database resources are optimized for performance and cost.

You will work with the team to move towards automation opportunities that are in line with operational excellence and corporate standards. The culture of our organization places an emphasis on teamwork, so social and interpersonal skills are equally important as technical capability.

Responsibilities:
• Identify and evaluate industry trends in new database related systems and technologies (e.g. Azure, SQL on Linux, NoSQL and PowerShell)
• Ensure that HCA's SQL Server standards are communicated and enforced
• Problem analysis, diagnosis, and implementation of resolutions
• Provide 24x7 system database administration support
• Implement database components
Basic Qualifications:
• Solid interpersonal skills, including a desire to work within a highly-matrixed, team-oriented environment
• Desire to build technical expertise via on-the-job training and experience
• Ability to gain adoption of best practice techniques
• Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures
• Work with vendor technical support to facilitate analysis of and resolution to technical issues
• Experience in supporting SQL Server configurations that are highly available
• Experience in configuration and administration of database security

Bachelor's degree required
1+ years of relevant work experience required
