JOB SUMMARY

The Senior EDW Application Engineerwill participate in the development and deployment of fit-for-purpose EDW and BI products aligned to the customer's strategic plans and technology road maps. The employee will work closely with Customer Engagement and Architecture and Planning teams.

The Senior EDW Application Engineer will contribute to system requirements documentation, communication to customer engagement and architecture teams, and the refinement of existing system design. They will participate in the preparation and delivery of EDW and BI products that address business needs, and furthermore, they will utilize Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Methodologies for product development.

The Senior EDW Application Engineer should participate in tactical decision-making processes. This role should practice attentive listening, and display empathy towards others' ideas and perspectives. They should perform all duties with a focus on quality of work and attention to detail with a high level of self-management and self-awareness.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

•Design, build, test and deploy ETL jobs, scripts, packages and database objects for the Supply Chain EDW
•Maintain the integrity of the Supply Chain EDW and ensure its operational excellence
•Understand/Analyze HCA Supply Chain data to ensure design and development meets stakeholder needs
•Ensure standards and consistency in the development and maintenance of the EDW
•Direct involvement in large-scale development projects for the Supply Chain EDW
•Direct involvement in development projects supporting Supply Chain BI and analytics
•Direct involvement in the operational support of the Supply Chain EDW
•Support operational requests according to service level agreements
•Collaborate with business analysts, technical leads, management and stakeholders
•Provide accurate and thorough estimates of work efforts
•Apply Agile and SDLC standards and practices
•Demonstrate accountability to commitments and work product quality
•Participate in on-call rotation supporting EDW

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree required
Major in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field preferred

QUALIFICATIONS

Specific technical experience in the areas of data analytics and enterprise data warehousing required
5+ years' relevant work experience required


•Extensive SQL and ETL development experience
•Strong data analysis skills with experience in data transformation
•Solid understanding of relational and multi-dimensional data models
•RDBMS experience; Teradata experience preferred
•SQL query performance tuning and debugging experience
•Experience with UNIX and UNIX shell scripting
•Experience with command line/shell and scripting languages
•Experience with mainframe applications and batch scheduling
•Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a high profile and fast-paced team
•Ability to manage multiple task streams, work both independently as well in a team
•Technical aptitude to learn and adapt to new industry trends and applications
•Experience working with cross-functional teams

•Strong written and verbal communication
•Supply Chain experience preferred
