JOB TITLE: Applications Developer
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES - The Application Developer develops database and web applications to
support the Patient Account Service Center (PAS). The position is responsible for ascertaining business
requirements from PAS business users and incorporating those requirements into applications that meet the defined
need(s). The position is also responsible for assisting the Application Development Manager with other duties as
assigned including maintenance and support of ongoing applications.
SUPERVISOR - Application Development Manager
• Assists in developing, supporting, and maintaining database and web applications
• Documents technical requirements by working with the Application Development Manager or business users.
• Completes application development tasks assigned according to project plan (if applicable) and communicates
• Assists in developing prototypes/models and determining data sources (if applicable).
• Follows technical and development standards when developing database and web components.
• Executes application unit testing plans. Documents and resolves resulting defects.
• Coordinates system and user acceptance testing (as appropriate).
• Creates and maintains application documentation.
• Assists in analyzing and executing change requests and enhancements.
• Resolves application issues as instructed.
• Develops appropriate application controls to mitigate operational and financial risks.
• Act as a liaison between Application Development and PAS business users.
• Actively participates in application design sessions.
• Provides technical guidance to business users.
• Devises technical solutions to promote business activities.
• Performs monthly application monitoring and maintenance as assigned.
• Assists with other duties as assigned.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Business Owners, business stakeholders and developers to understand the project vision / roadmap and translate that into the sprints.
• Define detailed stories with applicable acceptance criteria in collaboration with product owners and technology team.
• Create and manage a backlog of clearly defined and prioritized user stories.
• Facilitate scrum sessions with the team.
• Work closely with developers to support the agile development process
• Review and approve finished development work before release into production.
• Assist with basic project management task as required.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Required Skills/Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience working in an Agile development environment, e.g. Scrum or Kanban.
Ability to integrate Agile best practices.
• Ability to create user stories, process flows and wireframes in order to clearly communicate a set of functional requirements.
• Extensive experience at conducting requirement gathering sessions and then concisely documenting their outcome.
• Proven experience of managing and prioritizing a backlog of user stories.
• Superb attention to detail and a rigorous focus on delivering quality output.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to speak knowledgeably with members of both the business and development teams.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize and clearly communicate findings of analysis
• Solid understanding of web development environments, sufficient to understand the implications of issues within web-based applications.
