Personal Summary

To whom it my concern,

I am writing in response to the Jr. help desk analyst/job code: 08648-146616. I am looking forward to contributing my ideas, thoughts, and work ethic by applying what I have learned academically at Virginia Commonwealth University, and through the skill sets I have acquired through my experiences and curiosity. Please consider my qualifications for this position.

My education and skills in computer systems (Windows, Mac, Linux) and hardware (including peripherals), as well as my ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge effectively, enables me to be an asset. I am proficient with computer install, repairs, support, and troubleshooting, with experience in running cat5/cat6 cable. My ability to work independently and effectively, makes me the perfect candidate for the position. My networking skills working with Windows and Cisco servers, are well developed. In addition, my strong work ethic, whereby I persistently follow up until a problem is fully resolved, and my leadership and business skills will prove to be of value. At my previous position, I provided help desk support to 300 plus hourly and upper management employees.

Much of my experience comes from my own personal projects and curiosity. I have gained the knowledge and skills to build and support my own home security system with offsite surveillance recording, utilizing a Cisco catalyst 2960 switch with PoE and Cisco 2811 router, connected two remote LANs via PPTP VPN using business grade Cisco routers and switches, familiarized myself in depth with the removal of malware and viruses, and gained knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory. I am a natural mechanic and electrician, successfully rebuilding and rewiring several automobiles.
